Our Story

2009

At just 15, our founder Jon started freelancing under the name Jolt Digital Arts, a nod to both his name and the idea of sparking something different. While the early days were all about experimenting with design and photography, the name eventually took a backseat as Jon explored new creative ground.

2015

Fresh out of university, Jon made the leap to full-time freelance. With experience across photography, animation, digital marketing, and everything in between, he worked on projects from FIFA World Cup campaigns to marketing for a record label. The hustle was real, but so was the drive to build something of his own.

2016

Jon traded his time for a desk at The Boathouse Design Studio, a creative coworking space in Teddington. Surrounded by developers, designers, and strategists, he picked up new skills (like writing code) and expanded his client base. It was the start of something bigger.

2021

As demand ramped up during the pandemic, Jon shifted gears. Freelancers had already been brought in to help keep things moving, but it was time to go official. With a name suggestion from long-time collaborator James King, Jolt was reborn. Jolt Digital Limited was registered, and the agency took shape.

2022

Jolt opened its first private office in Teddington and welcomed its first full-time hires: Michael, a junior web developer, and Maitry, a marketing coordinator. The client base grew, the projects scaled, and Jon began navigating the reality of running an agency.

2024

Outgrowing its first home, Jolt moved into a new HQ in Kingston upon Thames. The team expanded with the additions of Baanji (Digital Marketing Manager), Alex (Developer & Tech Lead), and Hannah (Graphic Designer). Alongside the growth came sharper processes, stronger strategies, and a clearer direction.

2025

A new year, a new era. With a refreshed brand and sharpened focus, Jolt moves into 2025 with energy and ambition, continuing to blend creativity, strategy, and tech to help our clients thrive in the moments that matter.
